Our Staff
Sam, Vicki, Janet, Shen, Humma, Max, April,Laura, Ruby, Kennedy and Tracey are a tight knit team that are committed to the well-being of the children in their care. They nurture each child through play and exploration. Whilst in her uni holidays, we also have Amellia join us.
Between them, they have many years' experience of caring for children, some including their own.
Sam - Preschool Manager
Foundation Degree in Early Years Level 5
Sam is preschool manager and has worked at Early years @ Lightcliffe since 2009, before that she was on the committee for four years.
She has worked in childcare since leaving school both as a nanny and an early years practitioner. She gained her foundation degree in Early Years in July 2013. Sam is Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, designated safeguarding lead and paediatric first aid trained.
Sam is married and has a son and a daughter. In her spare time, she loves walking, reading, eating out, watching rugby league and holidays!
Janet - Preschool Senior staff
Cache Diploma in Preschool Practice Level 3
Janet has a level three diploma in Preschool practice and has been working at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2002,
before that she was in the manufacturing business. Janet is paediatric first aid trained.
Janet is married with a grown up daughter, in her spare time she likes to garden, read, travel and walk her pet dog Alfie.

Vicki - Deputy Manager

Vicki is preschool deputy manager and has worked at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2018. Vicki is paediatric first aid trained.

Vicki is newlywed and has 3 children. Her favourite things to do whilst at home is walking their dog Otis, baking, watching rugby from league to her oldest daughter and having days out with her family and friends.

Vicki has been qualified within Childcare Level 1, 2 and 3 since 2009. Discovering new and interesting things over the years by completing online and face to face courses.

Shen is a graduate in Sociology and prior to taking on my role as an Early Years Educator I worked for Lancashire Constabulary. I took a career break after becoming a mother. When my son was at preschool, I volunteered in the setting a few times and instantly knew this was the new career path for me.
I have worked at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2017 and is paediatric first aid trained.
Out of work me and my son enjoy lots of movie/cinema nights. We often eat out with family and friends (Turkish cuisine is my favourite). I love to travel and take lots of photographs, explore different places, venturing out for long drives (taking the scenic routes!) I am also a big football fan (watching not playing!) this hobby has developed further in recent years due to my sons interest in anything football!

Humma - Early Years Practitioner

Humma has 2 children of her own and has been working at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2016 and is paediatric first aid trained.
In her spare time, she likes to work out, go for long walks and socialise with family and friends.
