Our Staff
Sam, Janet, Vicki, Bethany, Shen, Kerrie, Humma and Carly are a tight knit team that are committed to the well-being of the children in their care. They nurture each child through play and exploration.
All of them have many years experience of caring for children, including their own.

Sam - Preschool Manager
Foundation Degree in Early Years Level 5
Sam is preschool manager and has worked at Early years @ Lightcliffe since 2009, before that she was on the committee for four years.
She has worked in childcare since leaving school both as a nanny and an early years practitioner. She gained her foundation degree in Early Years in July 2013. Sam is Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and paediatric first aid trained.
Sam is married and has a son and a daughter. In her spare time she loves shopping, watching rugby league and reading.
Vicki - Early Years Practitioner
Cache Diploma in Childcare and Education Level 3
Shen - Early Years Practitioner
Working towards Level 3 qualification in Childcare
Shen has a 7 year old child who attends the Older Years after school club. She is a Sociology graduate who used to work for Lancashire Police. Having been a parent volunteer at Preschool, she instantly knew this was the new career path for her!
Once Shen has completed her Level 3 training, she is looking forward to embarking on Early Years Teacher Training.
Janet - Preschool Deputy
Cache Diploma in Preschool Practice Level 3
Janet has a level three diploma in Preschool practice and has been working at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2002,
before that she was in the manufacturing business.
Janet is also our lead safeguarding officer.
Janet is married with a grown up daughter, in her spare time she likes to garden, read, travel and walk her pet dog Alfie.
Bethany - Early Years Practitioner
Diploma in Children's Learning and Development Level 3
Bethany is also one of our safeguarding officers.
Kerrie - Early Years Practitioner
Diploma in Children's Learning and Development Level 3
Kerrie is a mum of 3. She has worked with children aged 5 and under for around 4 years. Before that she worked with young people aged 5-19 for 6 years.
Kerrie qualified as an early years practitioner in 2018. She thoroughly enjoy watching children develop at their own pace and helping them to reach individual milestones.
Humma - Early Years Practitioner
Working towards Level 3 qualification in Childcare
